Wendy Smith and Stefanie Mwaura are single mothers, best friends, and women of faith with a shared mission: to create a place where everyone is welcome and faith is foundational. Guided by their faith and trust in God, they embraced the call to lead this gym with purpose, heart, and intention.

Rooted in three core values — Faith, Fitness, and Family — their vision goes far beyond workouts. What began as membership grew into a deep sense of belonging, as they were drawn to the gym’s warm, family-centered atmosphere and life-giving community. When the opportunity to become owners arose, they said yes, led by their love for the people and the mission God placed before them

Holy Grit’s coaches are NASM-certified fitness professionals who bring great energy, encouragement, and a whole lot of fun to every workout. They’re passionate about helping you grow stronger in body, mind, and spirit while creating a positive, faith-filled environment where you’ll feel supported, challenged, and at home — this is our family.

What is NASM?
NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) is one of the most respected fitness certification programs in the world. NASM-certified trainers are educated in safe, effective training methods, proper movement, and injury prevention.

Coach Ramona is a passionate fitness professional dedicated to helping others achieve their health and wellness goals. Through her own fitness journey and ongoing education, she empowers clients to build strength, improve well-being, and create sustainable healthy habits. Coach AJ is a NASM-certified fitness professional passionate about helping others build strength, improve movement, and live healthier lives. Dedicated to lifelong learning, he specializes in human performance and functional fitness. Through his Arsenal of Movement training philosophy, AJ empowers clients to achieve lasting results and reach their full potential.

Coach Veronica is a dedicated fitness instructor, wife, and mother of three whose own transformation journey began in 2015. After improving her health through proper nutrition and fitness, she became an instructor in 2019. Today, she is passionate about helping others build healthier lifestyles and achieve their fitness goals.

Coach Lance knows firsthand the power of transformation. After losing 50 pounds and rebuilding his health, he discovered a passion for fitness that led him to become a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Today, he helps clients build strength, confidence, and lasting habits through expert coaching, accountability, and encouragement. Let’s get after it!

Coach Griffin (“Coach G”) is a McKinney native and University of North Texas graduate with a degree in Kinesiology. With a lifelong background in competitive sports and fitness, he is passionate about helping clients achieve their goals, build healthy habits, and create sustainable lifestyles that support long-term wellness and success.

Coach Toriano is a devoted husband, father of three, and former college basketball player at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. A lifelong fitness enthusiast, he has remained committed to health and wellness beyond athletics. Toriano is passionate about inspiring and guiding others to build confidence, improve fitness, and reach their goals.

Coach Karen is a dedicated fitness instructor passionate about helping people feel confident and supported in their wellness journey. Inspired by the connection between mind, body, and spirit, she has embraced fitness since her college years. Karen believes regular exercise is key to building strength, positivity, and overall well-being.
